Q: What are your products made of?
A: 15Kv Design sculptures are made of solid aluminum (a sturdy metal alloy) that has been sealed and dyed by an electrochemical process called anodizing that thickens and toughens the naturally occurring protective oxide of the metal.

Q: Why do you anodize the aluminum?
A: Anodized aluminum products have an extremely long life span and offer significant advantages in the areas of use and maintenance. Scars and wear from handling, frequent surface dirt cleaning and daily usage are virtually non-existent. Rinsing or mild soap and water cleaning with a soft cloth usually will restore an anodized surface to its original appearance. Anodized aluminum offers a number of color alternatives*. Unlike other finishes, anodizing allows the aluminum to maintain its metallic appearance.

* The colors that appear on your computer monitor may not be an accurate depiction of the actual 15Kv Design product colors as monitors vary greatly in how they display colors. We have done our best to represent our colors accurately, but what you see on your screen may not be identical to the actual product as color representation can vary greatly from one screen to another.

Q: If I order 6 Volta Votivos, will each piece be exactly the same?
A: Yes and No. Since the machine techniques are a very repeatable and precise process, the shape, proportion and dimensions of each piece will be exactly the same. However, since each piece is individually created, the tooling marks on the finish or the color may vary slightly. Slight variations are part of the charm and make each piece unique.

Q: Is your creative process environmentally friendly?
A: Yes. Each work of art in the Volta Series is sculpted out of recyclable aluminum - a metal alloy that is partially made of recycled materials. The aluminum shavings are recycled after the sculptural machining is complete, and each sculptured piece is anodized (sealed) using environmentally friendly methods that result in no chemical run-off or other waste. Our packaging uses post-consumer fleece as well as recycled paper. The Volta Series illustrates that art can be created for the greater "green" good.

Q: How do I care for my sculpture?
A: Volta Series pieces are extremely easy to care for: rinsing with mild soap and water works well. Or, simply wipe with a soft clean cloth and a bit of furniture polish to preserve the shine. Because they are made of anodized aluminum, the sculptures do not need regular polishing and will not tarnish or rust. The use of abrasive cleansers, cloths or sponges on the sculpture is not recommended as the finish may become damaged. Do not place the pieces in the dishwasher as the detergent may adversely affect the finish.

Q: How do I prevent wax from sticking to the glass in the votive holder and to the taper/tealight holders and candlesticks?
A: Put 7-10 drops of water in the bottom of the glass prior to inserting the candle into the votive holder. After the candle burns down, the melted wax is easily removed (this is a trick we learned from a neighborhood restaurant - it really works!). As for preventing wax from adhering to the aluminum, a tiny amount of furniture polish applied to the surface of the taper/tealight holder or candlestick will cause any wax drips to easily peel off. We recommend using dripless taper candles and tealights encased in aluminum.

Q: Can I use your products outdoors?
A: Yes. 15Kv Design's products are suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. Be aware, however, that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the surface color to fade.

Q: Are you interested in customer comments or photos?
A: Yes! 15Kv Design very much appreciates feedback. If you send a customer comment or a photo that includes our products, we may post either one or both on the 15Kv.com website.

Q: How do I use the small and large Volta Coasters?
